Some agree, but find it difficult to fulfill their responsibility, leaving the solution only to speech therapists. Some of them go this way but give up after a short while.
The reasons and processes are of course very variable, but these are situations that I often encounter. Families who walk patiently until the end of the process can achieve the desired result to a great extent. For children, this is not much different from school and school assignments. It’s just an extra responsibility they don’t want, unless they really enjoy talk therapy and don’t like their therapist.
